To put your mind at rest on the letter of 24 years ago from EAGLE – the fellow who signed it was/ is Jim Storrie. A Fleetway/IPC veteran like myself.

Cheers Terence! I can well remember the feeling of getting something important off my chest with that letter, and feeling incredibly vindicated with the reply – it wasn’t that John Gillatt wasn’t an excellent artist, just not the right one for the strip at that time.
And if I remember correctly, you wrote the foreword to the softback Titan collections of ‘Charley’s War’, at least volume two, anyway?
